Storyteller's Prompty Questions
A downloadable game
Empower your stories, world building ideas, adventures, and solo RPGs using the power of questions.
I have been playing with a crazy idea lately, which is to ask myself random questions at random times during my games. Storyteller's Prompty Questions is a set of random tables with creative questions that you may throw to yourself, in the middle of your game scenes; be it a solo RPG adventure, a group game, collaborative storytelling, or a journaling game.
These questions prompted at random may trigger you to think of things you could have overlooked, or not explicitly described, such as the state of the building your characters are in, or the presence of insects annoying them; who knows where such questions lead you to!
Imagine if your players asked you these questions when you least expected them! Forever GMs will probably spot these questions as opportunities to move their game forward, and this is exactly what it is. Fill the silence gaps in your narrative with them!
There are two editions: Standard (Free, pay what you want), and extended (donating 5 EUR or more, and appreciating my work).
Features:
- 8 x d50 tables with evocative and challenging questions
- Location and Region: how much do you know about the place around you?
- Travel and Exploration: which questions and wonders could come up from your characters as they traverse your hex map?
- Relations and Society: how much do you know about the society you interact with?
- Situational Aspects: what could your characters wonder about the current scene?
- Character Backstory: challenge your characters with backstory questions that may extend your knowledge about them and their mysterious past.
- World and Politics: defy your world knowledge by prompting yourself to think about geopolitics, culture, society, and more.
- Factions and groups: dive deep into the details, surpluses, needs, politics, and culture of your world factions
- Magic and Technology: learn more about how technology, magic, and other crafts work in your universe
- Three 1d100 multi-word tables for Action - Descriptor - Subject, to help yourself answer some of those tricky questions (same as the one included in GUM)
- Play with these tables on PUM Companion by importing the included .pumt tables
Rules are extremely lightweight and include triggers for playing them with Mythic GM Emulator, Plot Unfolding Machine, Game Unfolding Machine, or other emulators.

hey I paid for to the extended version of this when it was 5EUR and now I can't access that version anymore since the price went up - not sure if there's a way to configure that so that amount rolls over when the extended is updated
Hello there, wow. Is that really how it works? Dear Lord. Okay, will fix it back soon!
yeah seems like a sad sideeffect ? I know normally when you purchase something it stays purchased but I think for the Pay-What-You-Want with stretches (which is so elegant to avoid multiple pages for the same creation) doesn't sadly
(I guess you could do the Standard as Demo and make this paid maybe ?)
hey there! once again i have some money for this but i can't pay thru paypal, would it be ok if i paid thru ko-fi to get a copy?
sure thing, Ko-Fi works. You can also check if DriveThruRPG supports your payment method, this is also available there, and you would get updates.
oohh okay, let me try that!
Absolutely loving this--I've always loved your solo machines, especially for the wide variety of oracles and ways to use them. Keep up the good work!
So much appreciated for sharing your comments! enjoy
