As most of you know, PUM Companion has been my focus last year, I can't be happier to have such a tool for storytelling, and such community! We have together overreached to what the app can do, and together with the event as a spearhead, shown that PUM can be great for crafting stories.

The APP continues to be maintained on 2025

Developing the app on my free time has been a blast. Still a niche and a handful of players, but it's getting better, and I begin to hear more often about players who have at least heard of our games.

The goal next year is to balance effort vs outcome, definitely play more, working out on more YouTube videos and tutorials, and reaching out to more players. What can I say, my Marketing skills are somewhat... limited :)

PUM Companion will soon become 2.0

There's some awesome changes coming soon that will level up the app. Version 2.0 is a culmination of all the features building up from 1.10 to 1.12, where the scope has been The Experience. Solo RPG is not only about writing, so my current itch is to satisfy the engagement of the app, making sure that playing those games is captivating and fun.

Setting up your games, organization your information, and easily switch between different parts of your story, is what makes 2.0 take all the features built so far and placing them on the forefront, so stay tuned, as it would be the first time ever I get to challenge its workflow layout.

What's next? The PUM Event!

I'd love to endorse our Community and the PUM event, with Seal on our discord and the Worldbuilders on our Discord Server are setting some high standards for how can PUM be played in Pre-configured Games. Stay tuned for its announcement soon on a next-level SciFi universe game.

What about the UMs?

PUM-SUM-GUM have been great for experienced players, but it's been challenging for beginners. A proof-read, refinement, improvement, and focus review is also part of the agenda.

All oracles thrown together has been a ride, not everyone is used to so many options and possibilities when it comes to playing. The intention is to improve how they work together, refine its oracles so they become clearer in purpose and utility as much as I can. PUM itself has learned a lot from PUM Companion the app, and its players, so there's a lot to draw from there too.

Even though many players struggle with the idea, at its heart, these games were designed from the get go so we wouldn't need, typically, any other random tables. But if these are combined with other material, it has proven to be somewhat a lot to digest. I'll pay attention this year to how these coexist and how clear they are to get a game going.

Other wishful thinking

Sometimes I picture being able to play in PUM Companion with friends. Other days I think of integrating AI for storytelling and images. These two stretch goals require serious, separate dedication, and thus, a business model to back it up. While I totally dislike subscription models, it is yet too soon to commit to these features.

Although keeping the app alive is out of the question, the highest and most likely option is that we work out on dedicated Look & Feel themes with Maria, that can be sold separately. Since I don't like a barrier on gameplay features, this would be an approach for supporting the project and getting some cool aesthetics on the hand. Alternatively, special features like the mentioned above, could be the ones integrated separately.

These are juts thoughts, and not written in stone, first and foremost, the app has to grow in adoption before continuing anywhere else other than its original path: Playing RPGs Solo, and Crafting Stories.

How to support the project?

You are already amazing, but if you find my games genuinely great, share and talk about them, share your actual players everywhere, so others can see how easy and effective is to get down to play with the app and Plot Unfolding Machine.
